Estimated vs. Actual Chargeable Weight
Calculating the estimated chargeable weight and actual chargeable weight of the parcel is a function of Mulebuy to protect the interests of both users and the platform. The freight difference will be returned in time, which is benefited to users and let users cost no extra money.
1. Meaning of estimated chargeable weight
After the goods are stored in warehouse, there will be a weight with the original packaging of the goods. When submitting the parcel, the system will estimate the packaging weight according to the weight of the goods in storage and calculate the total weight. If you request packaging removal when submitting the parcel, the weight after packaging will be inconsistent. That is the total weight when submitting the parcel, there is the estimated chargeable weight.
2. Meaning of actual chargeable weight
After the parcel you submitted is packed, the warehouse staff will weigh and measure it. If the parcel arrives at the carrier’s warehouse, the carrier doesn’t adjust the chargeable weight of the parcel, that the actual chargeable weight is based on the warehouse weighing and measuring.
If the carrier adjusts the chargeable weight of the parcel, that the actual chargeable weight is based on the carrier’s measurements. The actual chargeable weight can be inquired by clicking “details” on the parcel page 3 days after the it being sent out.
Tips:
- International freight is billed according to the actual weight and volume weight of the parcel. When choosing the international shipping route that will calculate the volume weight, if the volume weight of the parcel is greater than the actual weight, it will be charged on the volume weight, that the actual chargeable weight of the parcel is the volume weight.
- If the actual chargeable weight of the parcel is greater than the estimated chargeable weight, the system will notify the user to complete the pending payment. If the estimated chargeable weight of the parcel is greater than the actual chargeable weight and exceeds the continued weight, the system will automatically refund the difference to your Mulebuy account balance within 72 hours after the parcel is shipped.
